At Acacia, therapy services are at the core of what we do! Our mental health providers focus on collaborative diagnosis, treatment planning, and the ongoing prevention and management of mental, emotional, and behavioral issues through psychotherapy.

What to Expect In Your Sessions

We provide confidential and accessible services right from your computer, phone, or tablet!

You’ll be scheduled to see one of our providers for a 1-hour initial intake.* During that time, the provider will ask you about the symptoms that are distressing you or the reasons you are seeking to grow. They’ll also ask you about your family history, your academic, work, and relationship stressors as well as assess your use of substances and how that might be affecting your overall health.

By the end of the intake, they will make recommendations for treatment tailored to your concerns and may include: 

  • Medications 
  • Nutrition goals
  • Exercise recommendations
  • Sleep hygiene
  • Referral to any other medical specialty relevant to your needs

Your provider will want to see you weekly, or bi-weekly, to continue working towards your goals and give you the space to grow.

*Some of our offices have Intake Coordinators who will assist you with finding the best resources at Acacia!

Our Providers

Acacia providers have experience working with diverse clients in a variety of areas. Our 130+ clinicians are available in California and Minnesota! We have options for individual weekly therapy, group therapy, couples/partner therapy, medication management, and other wellness services offered by our team.

Once you request an appointment, we will begin the process of matching you with a provider either near you or via telehealth.

Specialization Limits Disclaimer

Acacia is an outpatient mental health clinic. We provide weekly individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy and medication management services to address a variety of mental health needs for anyone 18-years of age or older. Acacia does not specialize in the treatment of chronic substance abuse and addiction or active psychosis.

Insurance Disclaimer

Acacia is proud to accept and bill insurance on your behalf to make services as convenient, accessible, and affordable to our community members. It is important that you provide, and keep, Acacia updated with all of your insurance policy information to ensure we bill correctly.  When you schedule an appointment, Acacia’s team will do our best to verify your insurance benefits and quote your expected financial responsibility, known as cost-share, prior to your first appointment. 

Information quoted to you is based on information obtained directly from your insurance carrier. A quote of benefits does not guarantee coverage and is subject to change based on your insurance policy’s processing of claims. Because information provided to us is not always 100% accurate, we highly encourage you to check in with your insurance company to fully understand your policy’s benefits.

Acacia is participating* (in-network), with most commercial plans offered by the following insurance carriers:

California: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross (including UC SHIP), Optum (United Healthcare, MHN (HealthNet), and Cigna 

Minnesota: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, PreferredOne, HealthPartners, UCare, Medica/Optum (United Healthcare)

Therapy Rates & Insurance

At the time of session, you can pay with credit card or paypal although a credit/debit card is required to be on file.

California insurances accepted: Anthem Blue Cross (includes UCSHIP), MHN, Aetna, Cigna, and Optum. Our psychiatry services do not accept Medi-Cal.

Minnesota insurances accepted: Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, Medica/United Health Care/Optum, Health Partners, Preferred One, Aetna, and UCare. 

Pricing of services will vary by plan and will be discussed prior to your first session after our eligibility check. Not all insurance plans allow for telehealth billing. If this is the case, you will be required to pay for the session in full.


Please note, you are required to provide us with notice of cancellation at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in late cancellation or missed appointment fee charge. Coordinate additional billing inquires with our administrative team prior to your sessions.
